Listening to the Nones: A Class Series
The fastest growing religious group in the U.S. are the “nones,” those who say on surveys that their religion is “none” or “nothing in particular.” More than 20% of adults and more than a third of those under 30 fall into this category. In this class series, Fordham theologian and St. Bart’s parishioner Patrick Hornbeck will lead us in exploring the so-called “rise of the nones.”
We will discover who the nones are, hear some of their stories, and discuss the challenges of maintaining a religious identity in an increasingly secularized world. Toward the end of the series, we will ask what St. Bart’s can do to reach out to those who are still seeking a faith community that they can call their own.
Each class session will include discussion of a short reading or podcast. Please register for the class below so that you are on our mailing list to receive these materials!
